📚️ MCAT Corner
If you’re planning on taking the MCAT this January, register by Jan 6 for the Jan 16 test date or by Jan 14 for the Jan 24 test date.
Consider taking your practice exams at the same time of day your MCAT exam will be—one Reddit user even ate the same snacks while practicing!
🧠Big Brain Tip
Check out the AMCAS activities section ahead of time—by that I mean well ahead of time, even as early as freshman year of college. This helps you get an idea of how much room is actually provided on the application.
You can only add 15 activities total with 4 occurrences of each experience as of Jan 2024—this includes research, shadowing, volunteering, etc. So if you’re running 10 student orgs, this might be your sign to take your foot off the gas and reinvest that time into fewer activities—you do have to designate 3 as most meaningful, meaning you’ll have more space to elaborate on them.
This Shemmassian Academic Consulting article has a full list of all the different types of categories your activities can fall into. Try categorizing your activities and seeing what spread you have.
